MAHWAH, N.J., July 11 /PRNewswire/ — Jaguar North America will share the spotlight with Janet Jackson. The new Jaguar X-Type Janet Jackson "All For You World Tour 2001" will highlight Janet's latest album entitled, "All for You."
"We are pleased to be the first concert tour driven by Jaguar," said Roger Davies, manager for Janet Jackson. Janet's much anticipated tour began on Saturday, July 7 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore. The tour will continue to travel across the United States and Canada, ending with a final concert in Denver, Colo., on October 13. Janet will then head to Europe, where she will perform 25 shows in 10 countries. This is her first tour since the renowned Velvet Rope tour in 1997. To date, Janet has sold 40 million albums, won four Grammy awards, and received an Oscar nomination. "The X-Type represents more to Jaguar than just a new car. X-Type will bring a new, more diverse consumer into our showrooms," says Michelle Cervantez, vice president of marketing for Jaguar North America. "Jaguar's relationship with Janet Jackson is a powerful statement of our intentions to become more accessible to a new generation of Jaguar owners." Jaguar's all-new sports sedan, the X-Type, is the fourth model in the company's expanding product range and marks Jaguar's entry into the fast-growing compact sedan segment. X-Type is Jaguar's first all-wheel drive model, and goes on sale in North America on August 1. Jaguar's partnership with Jackson's "All For You World Tour 2001" provides billing in the tour title, inclusion in all tour advertising, promotion, publicity and printed tickets. At each venue, Jaguar willexhibit the new X-Type and display logos on screens, banners and signs. In addition, Jaguar will give away a two-year lease of an X-Type through radio promotions. Each concert will kick-off with a specially produced video featuring Janet Jackson along with a black Jaguar X-Type. This opening video was produced by Spike Lee's 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, Inc. and was directed by Dave Meyers. Meyers is also known for directing Jackson's "All For You" music video. "Our partnership has assisted Jaguar in communicating to a more diverse audience," says Spike Lee, of 40 Acres and a Mule. "This project is a direct result of that strengthening relationship." Jaguar North America and 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, Inc. announced their marketing partnership in April 2000. Butch Graves, COO of Black Enterprise Magazine and a member of Jaguar's Diversity Advisory Board, commented, "Jaguar has been leading the automotive industry in its efforts to connect with a more diverse consumer base. The creation of the Jaguar Diversity Advisory Board, partnering with 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, Inc. and supporting the Janet Jackson, 'All For You World Tour 2001' illustrates their commitment to achieving this." Jaguar's Diversity Advisory Board, founded in 1997, provides strategic counsel to Jaguar in the areas of marketing, franchise development, communications, and human resources. "Janet Jackson's 'All For You World Tour 2001' provides a strategic opportunity for Jaguar to introduce the new X-Type to a more diverse demographic across the country," said Paula Balzer, Chief Marketing Officer, Clear Channel Entertainment (formerly SFX), promoters of this tour and the world's largest producer and marketer of live entertainment.
