Brockville revamps October race schedule

BROCKVILLE-Brockville Ontario Speedway has announced changes to it's annual October finale. The originally scheduled two day show sponsored by GT Automotive/Dingwall Motorsports has been combined in a full day of action on Saturday, October 21st. The highlight of the event is the popular Run What You Brung 50 lap Modified feature that brings out the wildest and craziest creations from the mechanical whiz people that build the cars. Last year's event saw everything from Big Block engines to a sail panel bigger than the rest of the race car. The 50 lap winner will recieve a cool $3000 to win.

To keep things safe for drivers, crews and officials some basic guidelines are in place for this event. Those taking part must run a Modified chassis, with a minimium wheel base of 106 inches, it must have 2X4 frame rails and be able to start itself. The Wing can no longer exceed the length of the car, and the car height with a wing attached must not exceed 8 and a half feet.
In addition to the Modifieds, the Street Stocks will compete for a first place prize of $500 to win for a 30 lap feature showdown. The rapidly building Rookie class will also be on the slate on October 21st for a 30 lap $150 to win event. Drivers from other tracks are welcome but must follow their home track rules for the Street Stock and Rookie races.

Gates will open for drivers, cars and crews at 11am, with practice at 1pm and the first green flag of the afternoon at 2pm.
Grandstand Admission is $15 with those 12 years of age and under free with a paid adult. Pit admission will be $30.
